Welsh Quilts Study Group

Following our successful 1st meeting which took place at National History Museum of Wales, St Fagans, Cardiff, in June.
If you were at the St Fagans meeting, please try to join us at the next meeting. Many of you brought along beautiful quilts and it would be good to try documenting them, as we had intended on that day.
If you were not at St Fagans, but own a quilt and are willing to share it with others, are interested in the social history of quilting or want to learn more about quilting the Welsh way [and maybe try it yourself!] - our day at Minerva is an opportunity to share all this with other enthusiasts.
So much information has been lost to us because it has never been recorded, and by gathering together and sharing our knowledge we hope to build up an archive and to keep our quilting tradition alive. Please try to join us, and if you have a quilt, bring it with you!
The day will include a session documenting your quilts, an opportunity to view some of the collection at Minerva and a demonstration devoted to welsh quilting patterns, how to design a quilt top and how to lift patterns from old quilts. There will be plenty of opportunity to chat among ourselves during the day and the annual Summer Exhibition held at Minerva will still be in place for you to enjoy.

------------------------------------------------------------
Please complete a Registration Form and either e-mail or send it by post. The Minerva Centre is a bigger venue than last time, but you still need to book your place. There will be a small charge to cover administration costs, and tea, coffee and cakes, which will be available during both sessions.
Tea and coffee will be available during both sessions. There are only one or two restaurants open in the town on a Sunday, so you may wish to bring a packed lunch. Otherwise, see The Great Oak Café booking form.
